New Delhi: BJP on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court directives to the CBI and Enforcement Directorate to carry out investigations into the 2G spectrum scam but said it stood by its demand for a JPC probe into the matter.

"BJP welcomes the Supreme Court directives. We fully endorse the instructions of the apex court," BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy told a news agency here.

"Having said that, BJP strongly demands establishing a JPC and we reiterate this demand," he said.

Rudy said the Supreme Court directives have in no way diluted the BJP`s stand favouring a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the matter.

"The Supreme Court directives in fact vindicates the stand taken by the entire opposition," Rudy said.
