BJP will bounce back, prophecies Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj Saturday said the party would come out of its present crisis and that her word can be taken as a "prophecy".

"See, in every human life there are phases. Similarly in political life there are good phases and bad phases. We (the BJP) will come out of it. You can take it as a prophecy," Sushma Swaraj said at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in New Delhi.

The BJP leader was replying to a question on whether the crisis-hit party was in a position to provide leadership to the country. The BJP has been in trouble since the release of Jaswant Singh's book - "Jinnah - India, Partition and Independence", in which the founder of Pakistan, Mohammed Ali Jinnah, was not portrayed as such a bogeyman as he usually is in India.

Singh was expelled from the party -- a move that fuelled criticism within and without the party.

Sushma Swaraj, who has often been dubbed the successor of party senior LK Advani if he decides to retire from politics, refused to comment on the issue.

"I do not want to reply to speculations. I am speaking in my party's interest. These are all rumours," she said.

To a question on the ongoing power struggle in the party unit in Karnataka, where it is in power, Swaraj said the problem would be resolved "in a day or two".

Dear sushmaji,
it is great that you prophesy good for the BJP butthen it is good tobe realistic in terms of the political reality in the country. Congress has rebounced back as all roads lead to Sonia Gandhi, the latest bei ng the Amar Singh in the queue. So be reallistic and try to come out with some solid solution for the betterment of BJP which is synonimous of RSS. Mr. Bhagwat may be a good leader but he may not prove to be a good saviour for BJP. Hence there is dire need for halting the unchecked march of Sonia Gandhi who has proved another Indira for Congress. You promised to tonsure your head if Sonia becomes PM and now she is uncrowned queen enjoying the position of Super PM. It is a sad state of affairs. But then life goes on like this and you have not been able to do anything. I still have not lost hopes on your ability. Please try to extricate the Party from semi-parallytic state and bring some life in it..

While itis good to be optimistic, but any day dreaming is dangerous. We wish that BJP leader Sushma Swaraj`s prophecy comes true in case of BJP which is at the moment like a sinking ship, trying to find its moorings. Till early eightees, BJP was never heard of, because in 1984 BJP had only two MPs in Lok Sabha. Sudenly in 1998 its strength in the Lok Sabha rose, enabling it to form a coalition government at the centre which ruled for six years. BJP`s performance being not upto the mark, the voters did not cast their vote in favour of BJP in 2004 and 2009, successively. The infightings, blame game and mudslinging amongst BJP rank and file has lowered the image of the BJP in the eyes of the people. Unless revoluionary change and extensive overhauling, bringing in new young faces takes place in BJP leadership, the future of BJP seems bleak., because miracles can not be predicted.

WHAT SUSHMA SWARAJ HAS TOLD MAY COME TRUE IF THERE WOULD BE ONLY ONE LEADERS AT THE TOP WHO WOULD BE REVERED AND LISTENED BY ALL.THE PARTY IS NOW DRIVEN BY INSTABILITY,DISSENTING LEADERS AND BETRAYERS WHICH HAPPENS ONLY WHEN THE PARTY REMAINS OUT OF POWER FOR LONG.THE NEGATIVE VOTE WOULD COME TO BJP IF CONGRESS WOULD FAIL TO BRING DOWN THE PRICES, CORRUPTIONS BY ITS MINISTERS,TACKLE INSURGENCIES BY EXTREMEISTS,TACKLE NAXALITES AND MAOISTS FIRMLY AND ALSO CREATE A STRONG DEFENSE FORCES.IF IN ANY DAY ANY SUCH THING LIKE 26/11 WOULD OCCUR AGAIN THE WHOLE OF TIDEWOULD GO IN FAVOUR OF BJP AND BJP MUST BE PREPARE ITSELF.
