Board recommends revival of 7 CPSEs through divestment or JV

The Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises has recommended revival of seven sick central public sector enterprises through disinvestment or joint venture route, Parliament was informed on Thursday.

New Delhi: The Board for Reconstruction of
Public Sector Enterprises has recommended revival of seven
sick central public sector enterprises through disinvestment
or joint venture route, Parliament was informed on Thursday.

These CPSEs are NEPA Ltd, Richardson and Cruddas Ltd,
Tungabhadra Steel Products, Bharat Pumps and Compressors,
Hindustan Cables Ltd, British India Corporation Ltd and
Central Inland Water Transport Corporation Ltd, Minister of
State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Arun Yadav
said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.

Of the total 55 CPSEs recommended by BRPSE, the
government has approved revival of 37 units.

This envisaged total assistance of Rs 15,253 crore which
includes cash assistance of Rs 2,921 crore in the form of
infusion of funds and non-cash assistance of Rs 12,332 crore
in the form of waivers/write off of loans, from the
government, he added.
