Zee Media Bureau/Tarun Khanna New Delhi: In yet another attempt to engage himself in the war of words with Bhartiya Janta Party, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Sunday rebuked Narendra Modi government for increasing number of BPL families in Gujarat. Digvijay tweeted, "Number of Families under BPL has increased under Modi rule in a developed State like Gujarat. Another example of Gujarat Model of Development." The Congress leader further added, "Modi Acolytes would again respond the way they have been trained to give Galis but these are authentic statistics from Planning Commission." On October 18, Singh had tweeted, "Expecting another volley of "Galis" from Modi Acolytes ! Would Modi agree for a debate on Development ? He lacks GUTS to face Debate !. Moreover, He had earlier said that Gujarat has one of the highest per capita debt liabilities. Retaliating to his comment, BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said Gujarat citizens have given their answer to Congress allegations in 2012 Assembly polls, handing over a comprehensive defeat and re-electing Narendra Modi. He further added that Congress has been trying to criticise Modi`s claims about Gujarat model of development, saying numbers of families living below poverty line had increased in the state during his tenure.
