Brought back black money for river-linking funding: Gadkari

BJP president Nitin Gadkari today said if black money salted away in foreign bank accounts by Indians was brought back, it could fund development projects like river linking.

Mumbai: BJP president Nitin Gadkari today said if black money salted away in foreign bank accounts by Indians was brought back, it could fund development projects like river linking.

"If the USD 22 lakh crore stashed away in the Swiss
banks come back, the money can be used for development
projects like linking rivers," Gadkari said in a programme
here.

He was asked by a member of the audience about the
status of the river-linking project initiated by former Prime
Minister A B Vajpayee.

Earlier, he reiterated BJP`s demand that the black
money must be traced and recovered.
