Ahmedabad: The Creek Crocodile Commandos of
the Border Security Force have arrested six Pakistani
fishermen trying to infiltrate into Indian territory from the
Sir Creek area in Kutch district, BSF sources said on Monday.

The infiltration bid took place yesterday, they said,
adding the boat in which the Pakistanis were travelling was
seized.

"A boat from the Pakistan side had ventured two km inside
the Indian territory near Sir Creek. When our commandos
approached the boat they started going back," the sources
said.

"Our men fired a few rounds in the air, following which
the Pakistani boat stopped and the commandos apprehended six
men inside it," they said, adding primarily they appeared to
be Pakistani fishermen.

"The six men have been handed over to the intelligence
agencies who will be interrogating them," sources said.

Nothing incriminating was seized from them, they said.

Last month BSF had foiled two similar infiltration bids
by Pakistan fishermen near the Haraminala area on the Indo-Pak
border in western part of Kutch district and had arrested two
Pakistani fishermen in one of the incidents.

The Creek Crocodile Commando unit was formed a few
months ago after some personnel from the BSF were chosen and
given special training to conduct operations in such territory
like Sir Creek area.
