BSF to flag off camel safari expedition in desert areas

The Border Security Force will flag off its `Sand-to-Rann` 10-day camel safari expedition tomorrow to explore the remote area of the desert, identify problems of the common man living there and understand the local culture.

Ahmedabad: The Border Security Force will
flag off its `Sand-to-Rann` 10-day camel safari expedition
tomorrow to explore the remote area of the desert, identify
problems of the common man living there and understand the
local culture.
The expedition starting from Munabo, Barmer in Rajasthan
would conclude on November 23 in Banaskantah district of
Gujarat, an official release said.

The 15 member team which will participate in the
expedition will cover a distance of 410 kms of the land
border, it added.

"The purpose of the camel safari is to explore remote
areas of the desert, identify problems of the common man and
understand their culture and ethos, to establish a bond with
local youths and instill a sense of patriotism," it said.
The expedition will spread awareness about the BSF and
help it develop better understanding of the local people, it
further said.

BSF will also organise medical camps and cultural
activities for the border citizens during the course of the
expedition.
