`BSP did not support Congress led UPA in PAC meetings`

The BSP has said that it did not support the Congress-led UPA government in the PAC meetings and had instead demanded that the Chairman expose those involved in the 2G spectrum fraud.

Lucknow: The BSP has said that it did not
support the Congress-led UPA government in the PAC meetings
and had instead demanded that the Chairman expose those
involved in the 2G spectrum fraud.

The allegations that BSP backed Congress in the PAC
meetings are false and levelled with an intention to get
political mileage, the party`s spokesman said in a
statement issued here late last night.
"The party wants the people involved in the scam to be
exposed," he said, adding that it also expects propriety from
the Chairman, who is a senior BJP leader.

"The BSP expected that the probe would be impartial
but it never happened. He (the PAC Chairman) used the
platform to further his party`s cause," the BSP spokesman
said.

He asked the BJP leaders, who were making allegations
against the BSP, to tell the people why the PAC chairman did
not provide statements of witnesses in this scam to other PAC
members.
He alleged that PAC Chairman did not provide the
documents to the PAC members to go through them.

The BJP should also answer how the draft report of the
committee was leaked to the media, he said.

At the meeting of the 21-member committee, convened to
discuss the draft report in New Delhi on Apr 28, nine members
belonging to the ruling UPA -- seven Congress, two DMK -- and
one each from SP and BSP opposed its adoption.
