Combative BSP on Tuesday claimed the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre has maligned the image of the country due to a number of corruption cases.

"political drama", a combative BSP on Tuesday claimed the
Congress-led UPA government at the Centre has maligned the
image of the country due to a number of corruption cases.
"Congress should introspect itself before making
corruption charges against the UP government. A number of
ministers, MPs, officers and corporates are lodged in Tihar
jail on corruption charges... the image of country has been
maligned in international arena," a BSP spokesman said here.
He said that had the leaders of the state Congress
been serious regarding development, they would have requested
the Centre to provide the pending grant to the state for
Claiming that the state government was serious in the
matter of media, he said immediate action was taken and FIR
was registered against the police officers, who allegedly
misbehaved with media men in the state capital.
He said the Congress should immediately implement
recommendations of Justice Majithia if its government was
serious towards problems being faced by the scribes.
He also clarified there was no involvement of the
government in the murder of CMO BP Singh and Dy CMO YS Sachan
and said that a probe was on in the case.
