Raja further said that the bypoll results indicate the defeat of BJP and that people have rejected the inflammatory comments made by the party leaders.

Raja's reaction came shortly after the bypoll results were declared in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Gujarat.
While BJP had won 80 Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh, it lost 13 of the 24 Assembly seats held by it in the by-elections.
In Rajasthan, Congress won three of the four BJP seats. Similarly, the party lost three of its nine seats in Gujarat.
The only good news for the party was in West Bengal where it marked its entry into the state Assembly.
