New Delhi: The government on Thursday approved
Rs 846 crore Adriyala Shaft mining project of state-run
Singareni Collieries Company Ltd, which will feed NTPC's
Ramagundam unit in Andhra Pradesh.
SCCL is expected to mine annually 2.81 million tonnes of
coal from the project, an official statement said here.
"The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure today approved
the project of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd for a coal
production capacity of 2.81 million tonnes per year and an
overall outlay of Rs 846.06 crore and a net capital investment
of Rs 779.26 crores (after accounting for the revenues
projected to be generated during the construction period and
related capitalization of revenue expenditure)," it said.
The coal mined in the project will be sourced by NTPC's
2600 MW power plant in Ramagundam in the southern state.
"This coal production will meet the demand of NTPC
Ramagundam," it added.
