CAG Vinod Rai has political ambitions: Digvijay Zeenews Bureau

New Delhi: At a time when the Congress is facing a stiff political battle over auditor’s report on coal blocks allocation, party general secretary opened a new front against Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vinod Rai by accusing him of harbouring political ambitions.

Digvijay equated Rai with one his predecessors TN Chaturvedi, who had in 1989 brought out a report on Bofors gun bought by Rajiv Gandhi and upon retirement joined the BJP.

“The way the CAG is going, it is clear he has political ambitions like TN Chaturvedi. He has been giving notional and fictional figures that have no relevance to facts. How has he computed these figures? He is talking through his hat,” Singh said in an interview to The Indian Express.

After joining BJP, Chaturvedi rose to become a Member of Parliament and was also appointed as governor of Karnataka.

Singh’s scathing attack gains importance as it is the first time a senior Congress leader has openly attacked Vinod Rai.

The CAG, in its report, has said that lack of transparency in allocation of coal blocks to private players resulted in a notional loss of Rs.1.85 lakh crore (USD 37 billion) to the exchequer.

The report also mentioned that the mines were distributed to persons who don’t have any experience in coal mining, thus clearly indicating that there might be some beneficiaries who might be close to some influential people.

This man digvijay singh is a suffering from acute identity crysis for long time. He always starts something without head or tail. Had the CAG report been in favour of Congress government, the same person Mr Vinod Rai whoul have been a great person. Our PM is mumm on thos issue as always. May be he is busy (as always) to comment on such small issues. This is an old tric of Congress to offer No Comment and let the issue dye slowly on its own.

I would like to request we should file a petition in court and get Digvijay Singh arrested for disgracing the constitutional authority. If this type of leader is going to be free they will harm the constitution. He should know that Vinod Rai had not uttered any word on his report, but congress is not able to face it politically than they started blaming the authority. A deed which written Indicate that we have to hear only corrupt people only. These corrupt people had disgraced the constitutions and they does not have any moral right to stay in parliament.

If he had doubtful in CAG computation question agency credibility in the parliament through his party and file a petition in apex court for requesting team behind preparing report and norms adopted to calculate loss incurred to state exchequer. Being responsible politician should not talk always politically motivated in treating every issue in political manner. If he is someone spirited citizen appeal to apex court in coalgate case and then court will takes all the measures and we will come to know to knows that on what basis calculated and concluded that figure.

I am shoked at the behaviour of worst media that one could come accross. They spent entire day on modis comment on malnutrition as if they are being paid to keep govt happy. When it comes to attaking CONSTITUTIONAL BODY LIKE CAG some of the media channels say digvijays claims CAG has political ambitions.Had it been opposition these disgusting media wud have said they are attaking constitutional body.I want government so strong that the first thing that they shud do is ban these biased media whose souls are dead.

Do not know whether Mr. Vinod Rai has political ambitions, but Mr. Digvijay Singh seems to be having ambitions to become admitted in ICU of a mental hospital with rod therapy. Hope that will make him normal for good!
