Ahmedabad: Problems continued for the fourth
day today in the first computer-based Common Admission Test
(CAT) but the scale was much lower, IIMA officials said here.
"The problems were on much lower scale today," Convener
of the CAT-2009, Satish Deodhar told PTI.
The CAT glitches were attributed to virus attacks and
some problems of hardware faced by the IIMs and Prometric, the
American firm that is entrusted to conduct the test.
IIMA officials are expected to again meet a team from
Prometric today evening over the system crash issue after
having a long meeting with top officials of the software firm
yesterday.
IIMA officials had said the two prominent virus which
attacked the system were Conflicker and W32.NIMDA, adding,
that there could be other viruses which had affected the
system.
"We had discussed the way to insulate the CAT system from
virus attacks with Prometric officials," IIMA had said,
adding, they were hopeful that the results will come soon.
Yesterday IIM-A director Samir Barua had assured all
students that they will be able to take the computer-based
test and if required the window period could be extended by
two days.
