Kochi: The CBI Special Court here on Tuesday dismissed the plea of Soofiya Madani, an accused in the
burning of a Tamil Nadu state bus at nearby Kalamassery on
September 9, 2005, seeking relaxation of her bail condition.

Soofiya, wife of PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani, named as
accused in the Bangalore blasts, wanted lifting of the
restriction on her travel out of Ernakulam district without
prior permission.

Dismissing her plea, the Special Court judge S Vijay Kumar
said she had not stated the exact reasons for leaving the
district.

Rejecting her plea, National Investigation Agency (NIA),
which is probing the bus burning case, said investigation was
in the final stages and the chargesheet would be ready in a
month.

Soofiya had submitted that her relatives were not living
in the district and since she had already been questioned by
NIA, restrictions on her travel out of the district should be
lifted.
