New Delhi: The CBI is likely to go in for an appeal against the light punishment of six months of imprisonment given to former Haryana DGP S P S Rathore by a trial court which convicted him for molesting a teenaged girl.

The quantum of punishment today came under attack from political parties, the victim's friend and National Commission for Women which said it was "too little, too late."

CBI sources said the agency is likely to move a higher court for an appeal against the verdict.

For the record, CBI's Principal Information Officer R K Gaur said "we are not in a position to comment on the appropriateness of the punishment. There is a mechanism in CBI. Once we get the full copy of the judgement, our legal officers will study it and the appropriate decision will be taken by the competent authorities."

That scoundrel be not only stripped of his rank and dismissed from the services, but also paraded nakedly with a blackened face in public on a donkey with a garland of worn out slippers. The Govt. should remove the suffix IPS and instead write SOB.
Shame on his parents to give birth to a DEMON.

Kudos to the Army for the speed and impartiality with which they have dealt with this case. Compare it with the 19 years that the judiciary took to to give a verdict in the case of the ex DGP of Haryana and the ease with which he was promoted by the civil govt despite the charge against him.
