New Delhi: The CBI on Thursday swooped on some offices of the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in connection with a corruption case.

"A case has been registered under Prevention of Corruption Act related to MCI. Searches at some places are being conducted in this regard," CBI spokesperson Harsh Bhal said.

Efforts to reach MCI President Ketan Desai did not fructify as he did not respond to calls.

The CBI spokesperson, however, declined to give any further details about the case which has been registered against MCI officials and others.

having read many assertions remarks from different viwers. well the all are concentrated taking one vital aspect ie. swindling of huge amount(corruption) using his position!!

what about his role of working should not be went unnoticed, why because he is a terror damn for dirty politicians acting as a china wall for different regulatory norms. e.g.in establishment new private medical college, fulfillment of requirements normal course ``me kisi ke bat ki baat nahin`` isn`t it?
right from sprawling campus land with already existing clinic with many infra requirements....

this is bone of contention for a list of politicians who have applied for running a new college, on the contrary who can take it granted just similar to private engineering colleges which are manned by 90% by politically submerged man, right.

see the beeline of berserk colleges to come and visualize the then situation.
act collectively like uniform opinions tabled to stop the menace, which all can.

MCI= Most Corrupted Institute is owned and run by Desai, Advocate Maninder Singh. They earn money share it and save the surplus. So nothing has happened so-far and nothing will happen. See the legal cases given to Maninder Singh. He earned 3 crore as fee from MCI. Much more money from candidates.

Shame on all of us.

Ketan has many people, MPs and Ministers to his help. He has many resources to come out of all this. He is master mind for any kind of scandals in IMA elections and money laundering. Very very tough to get hold of him. His associates are now busy to free him

The honourable President of Medical Council of India and World Medical Association, Dr.Ketan Desai must now be honoured with the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his contribution to medical education in our country. He collected over Rs:1000 crores for this humble purpose. Like a true medical soldier he kept over Rs: 200 crores in his bedroom to serve the people. He is the brightest star among Indian medical doctors.

Dr Ketan Desai accepting bribe of Rs. 2cores in nothing as compared to big racket going on in Medical Education in india, wherein medical colleges who obtain recognition thru people like Ketan, charge huge sums of money as capitation fees ranging from Rs25 to Rs40 Lacs per seat.
Most of medical colleges are owned by MPs hence nothing will happen to him.
The free press of today has to expose this big racket then only something will happen.

I have experienced 2 years back, how difficult it is to get admission in medical seat without paying Lacs as capitation fees in India.
As I was not having Rs 30 Lacs demanded by .... from me as capitation fees, I had to send my son abroad.
Our Education Minister should raise cudgets against this malady. The lobby that Dr desai represents has far deeper roots and in process of time nothing will happen against him. This has happened earlier also.

It is too early to come to any conclusion on these raids. Similar raids were conducted on Dr Ketan Desai, after a High Court judge labelled MCI as a den of corruption but Dr Deasi was re instated as President MCI and went on to be elected as President World Medical Association. It is common knowledge that he was exonerated of all charges. Only a case has been registered and the CBI spokesperson has not commented on any findings so far. We need to be patient and watch this very closely.........
