New Delhi:In its bid to reduce backlog of
cases and speed up prosecution, the CBI has decided to recruit
21 legal officers for its various branches across the country.
Of the 21, six legal officers are for its Delhi office,
whereas four each are for Patna and Mumbai zone, three for
Lucknow zone, two for Bhopal and one each for Chandigarh and
The contractual appointment for the officers, popularly
known as `Pairavi officers`, would be for an initial period of
one year which can be further extended up to three years at a
consolidated remuneration not exceeding Rs 40,000 per month.
An advertisement in this regard has been put out by the
Department of Personnel and Training.
The retired officers of the Central/State Police Forces
of the rank of inspector or above with 10 years of experience
in investigation and prosecution of criminal cases are
eligible for appointment, it said.
