New Delhi: Aruna Shanbaug`s condition was
filmed and screened in the Supreme Court and a cue for this
was taken from the Nuremburg trials in which a screening was
done in the courtroom of some of the Nazi atrocities during
the Second World War.
"We had arranged for the screening of the CD in the
courtroom so that all present could see the condition of Aruna
Shanbaug," Justice Markandey Katju and Gyan Sudha Misra said
in the judgement.
"For doing so, we have relied on the precedent of the
Nuremburg trials in which a screening was done in the
courtroom of some of the Nazi atrocities during the Second
World War" the Bench said adding it heard the counsel for the
parties in great detail and "the three doctors nominated by us
were also present in the court".
The CD was prepared by the three doctors and submitted
along with their report which was played in the courtroom on
March 2.
