Centre should set up new SRC: RSS

Nagpur: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh
(RSS) on Sunday said the Centre should set up a new State
Reorganisation Commission (SRC) to deal with the demands for
separate statehoods and accept its recommendations as mandate.

"The announcement of creation of separate Telangana state
has set the ball rolling as demands for more smaller states is
cropping up... It would be wiser on part of the government to
immediately set up new SRC," RSS ideologue M G alias Baburao
Vaidya wrote in his weekly column in a local Marathi daily.

"The SRC should be set up with a term of reference and
its recommendations should be treated as mandate... it would
ease the problem," he said, adding that the Centre in no way
should take decision in haste.

Interestingly, the Congress was in power both at the
Centre and in Andhra Pradesh and the latter was revolting
against the Centre. Moreover, Telugu speaking people were
clashing with one another over the issue, Vaidya said.

After the Centre`s Telangana plan, Uttar Pradesh Chief
Minister Mayawati and Jaswant Singh joined the chorus for
smaller states with the BSP supremo renewing the demand for
splitting her state into Bundelkhand, Paschimanchal and
Poorvanchal, while the senior politician pitched for
Gorkhaland.
