New Delhi: After Naxals killed 27 CRPF
personnel in Narayanpur district of Chhatisgarh, Congress
today said the Centre and the states need to be on the same
page to neutralise the "violent and barbaric" Maoists.

"The latest Naxal attack once again underscores the fact
that given the very serious nature of the challenge, the
Centre and all state governments need to be on the same page
to isolate and neutralise this violent barbaric organisation,"
party spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters here.

Twenty-seven para-military force personnel had been
killed in an ambush by Naxals in Daurai Road area of
Narayanpur district on June 29 when the contingent was
returning from road opening duty on foot.

The attack came nearly three months after the April six
Dantewada massacre by the Maoists which had left 76 security
personnel dead.
