Chidambaram meets Bhutan king

Thimphu: Home Minister P Chidambaram, who is on a four-day official visit to Bhutan, on Saturday met King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and held discussions on a wide range of issues.

Chidambaram arrived in the neighbouring country yesterday. He was received by Bhutan's Home Minister Minjur Dorji, Foreign Secretary Daw Penjo, and Indian Ambassador to Bhutan Pavan K Varma at the Paro International Airport, state media reported.

Chidambaram will also meet Prime Minister Jigmi Y Thinley and other senior government officials. He is accompanied by Joint Secretary (North) Satish C Mehta.

His visit is aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries and cooperation in common areas.
