Chidambaram says won’t resign over 2G order Swati Chaturvedi

New Delhi: Speaking exclusively to Zee News, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Thursday refused to offer his resignation, a demand made by the Opposition, following order of a Delhi court allowing the interrogation of some CBI and senior Finance Ministry officials in connection with the 2G scam case.

“There is no question of my resignation. It is a procedural order and does not have any adverse implications for me," Chidambaram said in his first exclusive and so far only reaction on Special CBI judge OP Saini's order to Zee News.

Clarifying his stand, Chidambaram said that the court has said nothing against him so there’s no point of his resignation

Expressing confidence, the Home Minister said that the party and government were with him.

Earlier, Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid said that P Chidambaram resignation is not required adding that the government doesn’t consider Delhi court’s order as a setback to the government.

The Home Minister was attending an exhibition on homeland security at Pragati Maidan here, after which he gave his first reaction to Zee News.

When BJP sold company in whole sale to tainted Company`s including foreign company`s & govt even did not table CAG report on Balco sale, no body in India called it a scam. Because the interest of so called media and punjipatis have been taken care off. Similarly when a company like airtel becomes a two lac crore company by the grace of BJP nobody calls it a scam.

It is too difficult to beleive that a gentleman of the calibre of Mr. Chidambaram will stoop to such low level.

Any minister do not feel to resign. They R not there to serve the country. They have been elected to loot and cheat their own country ppl., Once elected they become the ``King``. Why sould one resign to give away all this facilities enjoyed by them!!!!!!!!!!! We want semi-Democracy + Military rules.

firstly Salman Khushid was company affairs minister at that time of 2G scam and he had allowed the sale of shares to blacklisted company the next target would be him that why he is defending chidambram ,chidambaram by not resinging is actually admitting that he is guilty in the scam and really our politician have lost their morals in thrust of their chair .and if he still remains he will annihilate evidence and influence CBI which is under home ministry
