It is a shame. China is beating us in terms of our national official language (Hindi) too. In India, Hindi is dying a slow death. Neo-Englishmen of Indian blood also now act as if it is a language for talking to servants only. Hindi periodicals are closing down (e.g. Dharmayug, Saptahik Hindustan), little new Hindi literature of class is produced and English has so much dominated the scene that hardly any Indian is capable of talking without a liberal mix of English words.
