Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj
Singh Chouhan today advocated formulating a model code of
conduct for the MPs and MLAs to maintain decorum in the
legislative bodies.
The environment (standard) of legislature bodies is
eroding and it is necessary to formulate a model code of
conduct for its conservation, Chouhan said addressing the
symposium on 'Urgency in Addressing the Needs of Environment
and Conservation of Wildlife' in the state assembly here.
He appealed Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, who was
chairing the symposium, to take an initiative on the issue.
Referring to global warming, he said, that it was the
result of nature's unchecked exploitation and now people are
talking about global cooling.
Too much exploitation of the nature is not in the
interest of environment, he said. "Human beings must learn a
lesson from the rules of the forests," he added.
Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani said
environment will not improve merely by enacting and
implementing laws, but it will change only when people
sensitise themselves and take an initiative on the issue.
