New Delhi: Congress spokesman Janardhan Dwivedi on Monday became the latest victim of a shoe attack when a man, posing as a journalist, brandished his shoe at him before being caught and pounced by party workers.

The followings are the famous shoe-throwing incidents which began with an attack on former US President George Bush in Iraq more than two years ago.

Upset over the presence of Americans in his country, Iraqi journalist Muntazar al Zaidi threw both his shoes at then US President George Bush who was visiting Iraq.

During his visit to Cambridge University in Britain, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao was hurled a shoe by a 27-year-old German student.

Jarnail Singh, a journalist from Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, began the trend in the country by hurling a shoe at Union Home Minister P Chidambaram after the minister refused to discuss Congress leader Jagdish Tytler's alleged involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases.
