Kolkata: CID, probing the murder of All
India Gorkha League chief Madan Tamang in Darjeeling, will
request the Interpol to issue a red-corner notice for his
killers who have allegedly escaped to Nepal.
"The killers have been identified. Most of them have
escaped to Nepal. The CID has been told to request Interpol to
issue red-corner notice for them," DGP Bhupinder Singh told
reporters here today.
Singh said he had written to authorities of video-
sharing website YouTube requesting footage of the Tamang
killing which had been posted by a tourist who had shot the
scene on his mobile camera from his hotel room.
The CID arrested three men. Two of them, Subash Tamang
and Prashant Chhetri, were injured when Tamang`s bodyguard
opened fire. The third man, a contractor from Darjeeling was
arrested on June 3.
Asked whether the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha was
responsible for the killing, the DGP declined comment, saying
investigations are continuing.
He said that IG CID P Neerajnayan has submitted a
report to him on the progress of the investigations.
