New Delhi: Members from over a dozen civil society groups across the country will march to Parliament on Friday protesting nuclearisation of India and demanding sustainable alternative forms of energy.
The march under the banner Anti-Nuclear Struggles` Solidarity Forum will begin from Mandi House at noon and end at Jantar Mantar, a short distance from Parliament House on the edge of the posh commercial district of Connaught Place, at 1.30 pm.

"This protest march is to state our stand that we oppose all forms of nuclearisation of India, including nuclear (fission) power and weaponisation plans and programmes, and to demand an immediate moratorium on all new projects, and a stringent review of existing plants by independent experts," said a member of the Forum.

Environment group Greenpeace will also hand over 70,000 petitions against the proposed Jaitapur nuclear project to the Prime Minister`s Office.
