Coal issue: Congress to hit streets against BJP

New Delhi: Under unrelenting attack from the BJP over coal blocks allocation, the Congress on Tuesday announced it will "hit the streets" to expose the double-speak of the opposition over sanctity of constitutional institutions.

After a meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party here under the chairmanship of Sonia Gandhi, spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters here that lakhs of party workers would "hit the streets" to expose the BJP "shedding crocodile tears" over the sanctity of constitutional bodies.

Tewari's remarks come in the wake of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders targeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over his attacks on the Comptroller and Auditor General's report on coal blocks allocation in a statement made in Parliament Monday.

"The BJP is in the habit of shedding crocodile tears about the sanctity of constitutional institutions. Is Parliament not a constitutional institution and their stalling it -- will it not undermine democracy?" Tewari asked the opposition party.

"Under the directions of party chief Sonia Gandhi, lakhs of Congress workers will hit the streets to expose the BJP," he said.

It is a very humble request to the high command of Congress Party to please take this Manish Tiwari off from being a spokesperson. He is just something which can cause a lot of heart and mental illness to many of Indians. Just please remove this kind of a dog from your spokespersons list.

Which means aam aadmi (mango man) has to suffer again? First financially after Congres does scams and now, now mental torture by Congress goons. BJP will not have any problem nor will Congress. It is the aam aadmi who will face a problem. Manish Tewari should first give proper insight and proper facts of the scam to the people of India and not to BJP or anyone else. You are accountable to people of India. Jai Hind!

This is very strange. It`s the right and the plight of the opposition to expose any government. But the government exposing the opposition? What power does the opposition hold anyway? It seems Congress party has lost its balance completely. And how will demonstrations expose the BJP? Doesn`t Congress itself demand proof from the BJP? Then where is the proof the Congress have about the BJP? If they have proof, what need for going to the streets and not showing the proof in parliament? Thus Congress party totally proves its foolishness and undermines its own policies.
