Comm Min official gets Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana award

Amarendra Khatua, Joint Secretary in the Commerce and Industry Ministry has been selected for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana award for his contribution to Oriya literature.

New Delhi: Amarendra Khatua, Joint Secretary
in the Commerce and Industry Ministry has been selected for
the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana award for his
contribution to Oriya literature.

The honour of the Orissa unit of the Rajiv Gandhi Forum
will be presented to Khatua on May 21 in Bhubaneswar.

Khatua, Indian Foreign Services officer of 1981 batch,
currently working in the trade policy division of the Commerce
Ministry, looks after various trade related issues like WTO.

Not many know that Khatua, who did his graduation from
Delhi University in 1978, is a poet and has written several
poems in Oriya.

Last week the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet
approved the proposal for premature repatriation of Khatua to
his parent cadre.
