Patna: Perturbed over the charge that it has
denied representation to Muslims in the biennial polls for
Legislative Council and Rajya Sabha in Bihar, JD(U) Wednesday hit
back at its detractors saying the party works for welfare of
The ruling NDA led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has kept
in mind the composite interests and welfare of all sections,
JD(U) national spokesman Shivanand Tiwari said in statement.
The next Assembly polls too will be held on development and
welfare plank and not on secularism versus communalism, he
said, adding the debate in this regard has become irrelevant
in Bihar politics.
Referring to representation to Muslims for the Rajya Sabha
and Vidhan Parishad polls, Tiwari reminded the critics that
out of seven Muslim MLCs at present, four belonged to JD(U),
while two Muslim leaders were sent to Rajya Sabha in the past
