Cong criticises PM over Nehru comment

It is not fair to make any comparison, party spokesman Shakeel Ahmed told reporters.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh`s statement that his government was more cohesive than that of Jawaharlal Nehru has not gone down well with the Congress.

The party on Friday maintained that it was not fair to compare two Congress governments as all the governments headed by the party has done good work.

"These are all Congress governments. In their time, all these governments worked well. It is not fair to make any comparison," party spokesman Shakeel Ahmed told reporters.

He, however, said that he was not aware in what context the Prime Minister made the statement but reiterated that the party felt that all Congress governments have worked well.

"How can we say that this UPA government is better than the last one or the last government was better than this one. The last government was good and this too is good," Ahmed added.
