New Delhi: Congress on Friday hit back at the
BJP over its allegations that the Centre had "engineered"
selective leak of the SIT report on post Godhra riots, asking
the party how the CAG report on 2G spectrum was divulged.
"We also have to ponder over how the CAG report (on 2G
spectrum) was leaked and not only about the SIT report,"
Congress spokeperson Jayanthi Natarajan said here reacting to
BJP charge that the government had a role to play in selective
leak of SIT report on post Godhra riots to divert public
attention from the issues of corruption and price rise.

The Congress leader said the role of Gujarat Chief
Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the post-Godhra
riots also needs to be looked into.

"As per my understanding, what is written in the SIT
report on the role of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi
needs to be looked into," Natarajan said.
BJP had said it "apprehended and suspected" that the
Centre had "engineered" selective leaks of SIT report on
post-Godhra riots to the media to divert attention from issues
like price rise and corruption and demanded a probe into the
matter.
