Cong keeps mum over rebels at Jagan's meet

New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday steered clear of the controversy over the attendance of 28 of its legislators at the inaugural meet of the outfit launched by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

"You ask the Congress General Secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh," Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said here on the presence of 20 rebel MLAs, two MPs amd six MLCs at the meet.

Yesterday, at the first plenary of the Jagan Mohan-led YSR Congress Party at Idupulapaya, the private estate of the Reddy family, in Kadapa district, YSR's son took the Congress head on.

The two MPs who attended the convention were: Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy (Nellore) and Sabbam Hari (Anakapalle).

The MLAs present were: Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, Konda Surekha, Siva Prasad Reddy, G.Srikanth Reddy, A.Amaranatha Reddy, Adinarayana Reddy, Mekapati Chandra Sekhar Reddy, Sesha Reddy, Dharmana Krishna Prasad, Chandra Sekhar reddy, Balaraju, Prasad Raju, Golla Babu Rao, Srinivasulu, Gurunatha Reddy, Kapu Ramachandra Reddy, Kunju Satyavathi, Golla Barthi and Sobha Nagi Reddy.

MLCs Pulla Padmavati, Konda Murali, Jupudi Prabhakar Rao, Desai Thippa Reddy, M Seshu Babu and Devagudi Narayana Reddy too were present.

Congress is already facing a crisis in AP with its MPs and MLAs from Telangana submitting their resignations in support of separate statehood for the region.
