Cong launches Rajiv Jyoti Sadbhavana Yatra

In a bid to propagate the ideals of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and highlight the achievements of the Congress-led UPA, the party today launched `Rajiv Jyoti Sadbhavna Yatra`, which will cover nine states.

former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and highlight the
achievements of the Congress-led UPA, the party today launched
`Rajiv Jyoti Sadbhavna Yatra`, which will cover nine states.

The yatra was launched from Rajiv Gandhi memorial at
Sriperumbudur near here by AICC Secretary P Sudhakar Reddy and
TNCC president K V Thangkabalu, among others.

"Today we took a pledge against terrorism and
communalism. The yatra will propagate the ideals of Rajiv
Gandhi and highlight the achievements of the UPA government,"
Reddy said.

The march, which will see participation of about 200
party workers, will pass through Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, West
Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and
Jharkhand before culminating at Veer Bhoomi (the samadhi of
Rajiv Gnadhi) in New Delhi on August 20, coinciding with the
66th birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, in the presence of
Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Reddy said.
