New Delhi: At a time when the UPA government
is facing pressure from civil society activists on corruption
issues, Congress has sought to turn the tables on Opposition
with plans to expose "scandals" in states ruled by them
particularly BJP.
While a delegation of Uttarakhand Congress Committee led
by AICC General Secretary Virendra Singh will meet President
Pratibha Patil tomorrow and submit a "charge sheet" against
the "corrupt and incompetent" BJP government in the state,
another high level delegation from Gujarat has sought
appointment from her.

Sources in the party said that armed with information
collected through Right to Information (RTI) Act, party
leaders from Gujarat will meet the President and submit to him
a list of "exposes" regarding scams in the Narendra Modi-ruled
state.

The delegation will submit "proofs of corruption", a
senior leader said. The party will also release Compact Discs
carrying details of the corruption in the state.

"There is huge corruption in the state. Apart from this,
the poor plight of farmers and the aberrations in land
acquisition in Modi`s state will be brought to the President`s
notice," an AICC leader said.
A similar exercise is already underway in Uttar Pradesh,
which goes to polls next year. The party has prepared a
detailed charge sheet of various alleged scams and corruption
in government schemes in the BSP-ruled state and will soon
come out with its charge sheet on the "misrule" of Mayawati,
sources said.
