New Delhi: Union ministers praising the
administration in Opposition-ruled states has not gone down
well with partymen complaining to Sonia Gandhi over their
attitude.

PCC chiefs and CLP leaders from a number of states met
Gandhi today to brief her on the political situation in their
states and their preparations for the organisational
elections.

AICC general secretaries in-charge of states as also
Ahmed Patel, political secretary to Congress president were
present during these deliberations.

Some of the state leaders accused some Union ministers of
not cooperating with them during visits to their regions and
instead creating problems by praising the administration in
states ruled by non-Congress parties.

Minister for Environment and Forest Jairam Ramesh had
sometime back praised the Gujarat model of wildlife
management, which had irked his partymen in the Narendra Modi-
ruled state.

Meanwhile, Gandhi today met the AICC general secretaries
in-charge of states, PCC presidents and CLP leaders of Uttar
Pradesh, West Bengal and Gujarat to discuss organisational
matters. She had yesterday also met the leaders from Madhya
Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar and Haryana.

After meeting Gandhi today, UPCC chief Rita Bahuguna
Joshi said that the Congress president reviewed the status of
organisational elections in the state and the party`s
preparations. Sources said that the party president stressed
on better coordination between the PCC and the state
governments where Congress is in power.
