New Delhi: Holding Congress responsible for disruption in Parliament, BJP on Thursday accused it of playing a "double game" with the people of Andhra Pradesh and said it has "no commitment" towards the creation of Telangana.
"This is a party in perpetual chaos and crisis...Congress has no commitment, ideological or otherwise, for creation of Telangana. That is why we are seeing scenes in Parliament," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
"It is a very dangerous double game that Congress is playing with the emotions of people of Telangana and Seemandhra. Congress is guilty of dividing the people. We are opposing it," he said.
Javadekar said this "double game of Congress" was being played to "secure votes of all regions of Andhra Pradesh," and it will "backfire on them" as they will lose out from both the Telangana and Seemandhra regions in the forthcoming elections.
Questioning the ruling party for its failure to put the Houses in order by taming its MPs who are creating disruption in Parliament, he said, "Why you don`t know how to run the House?
"It is the responsibility of the Prime Minister, Kamal Nath and Sonia Gandhi to control their members from disrupting Parliament. How can they run away from their responsibility?
"Congress wants to have the cake and eat it too," he said. "We will deliver Telangana in 100 days. This is our commitment. We will include this in our manifesto," he said.
The opposition party also said it will seek an explanation from the ruling party either tomorrow or on Monday on why it is unable to explain the allegations made by a middleman in the AgustaWestland case.
BJP seeks to demand an explanation on Defence Minister A K Antony`s statement made in Rajya Sabha on the issue as to which is the family mentioned in Haschke`s statement in Italy.
