CPM to raise CWG corruption issue in Parliament

Alleging huge corruption in the organisation of the Commonwealth Games, CPI(M) today said it will raise the issue in Parliament in the next session.

Hisar: Alleging huge corruption in the
organisation of the Commonwealth Games, CPI(M) today said it
will raise the issue in Parliament in the next session.

"There is huge corruption in the Commonwealth Games. But
the Central government is trying to hide the issue instead of
taking it seriously. Our party will raise it in forthcoming
session of Parliament in November," CPI(M) General Secretary
Prakash Karat told reporters here.

Accusing both the Congress and BJP of pursuing policies
of massive privatisation wherever they were in power, he said
the CPI(M) would launch an agitation if they continued their
"anti-people" programmes.

Commenting on reservation, Karat said quotas should be
granted on socio-economic basis.

He also asked people across the country to maintain calm
after the Allahabad High Court delivers its verdict on the
Ayodhya title suits tomorrow.

"No one should create tension in the wake of the ruling.
If any person or political party is affected by the verdict,
they should approach the Supreme Court through judicial
process," he said.
