CRPF wins annual police band competition

Gurgaon: CRPF on Friday won the annual police band competition held here, staving off competition from twenty-three other teams in the brass, band and bugle disciplines of the event.

While Sashastra Seema Bal and Border Security Force took the second position in Brass band competition, Assam Rifles and Jharkhand police were adjudged second and third in Pipe band competition.

The West Bengal Police and Madhya Pradesh Police bagged the second and third place, respectively, in Bugle band competition.

The five-day event was being held at the CRPF training academy at Kadarpur near here.

Minister of State for Home M Ramachandran along with CRPF Chief K Vijay Kumar awarded the winners who had also showcased live music to the general public in places like India Gate and shopping malls in Delhi in the last few days.
