Culprits in infant`s case to be arrested soon: J&K Govt

Jammu: Those responsible for the death of an
ailing infant during a protest in Baramulla recently have been
identified and would be arrested within two days, the State
Assembly was told today.

"The persons involved in the stone-pelting incident,
resulting in the death of an 11-day-old infant at
Chakla-Baramulla would be apprehened within two days," Law
and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ali Mohmmad Sagar said
making a statement on the floor of the House today.

"Though no arrests have been made so far, the persons
involved in the crime have been identified and several places
are being raided to nab them", he said during the discussion
on the motion of thanks on the Governor`s address.

An 11-day-old ailing baby boy, who was being rushed to
hospital in a mini-bus died after protesters stopped the
vehicle and roughed up its passengers in Jammu and Kashmir`s
Baramulla district on Monday.

The State Assembly had asked the government to issue a
statement on the issue after members, irrespective of their
party affiliations, condemned the incident and the PDP led by
Mehbooba Mufti staged a walkout over it.
