Defence Ministry to computerise data on land belonging to it
The Defence Ministry will conduct a survey of land belonging to it and computerise the records to detect and prevent encroachement, Rajya Sabha was informed.
New Delhi: The Defence Ministry will
conduct a survey of land belonging to it and computerise the
records to detect and prevent encroachement, Rajya Sabha was
informed on Wednesay.
"Two projects, one on computerisation of land records
and the other on survey of defence land using modern
technology have been sanctioned recently," Defence Minister A
K Antony said while replying to a written query.
He said that detailed instructions have been issued
by the ministry for ensuring "vigilance, detection and
prevention" of encroachements.
"The process of detection and removal of the
encroachments is a continuining exercise... Both projects are
to be carried out in time-bound manner," Antony said.
The minister informed the Upper House on the action
taken into Sukna land scam and current status of
investigations into Adarsh Housing Society case.
"Four officers have already been censured in Sukna
Land Scam case. The case of Adarsh Housing Society is under
investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI),"
He also said that the Defence Ministry has decided to
review the practice of issuing `no objection certificate`
(NOC) for construction of buildings on lands adjoining defence
