New Delhi: Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi Friday said he will not tolerate delay in execution of railway projects and ruled out any compromise on the safety aspect.

Answering questions in Rajya Sabha for the first time after taking over the Ministry, he said, "I will not tolerate any delay in any area. If I can do it today, I will do it today."

At the same time, he said, "I will not compromise on safety of railways."

On why work on a coach factory at Kanjijode in Kerala did not begin even though the project was announced four years back, he said it was because the state government changed terms for giving land for the project.
