Delhi court allows family members to meet Balwa at CBI HQ

A Delhi court allowed the plea by family members of Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Usman Balwa, arrested in connection with the 2G scam case, to meet him at the CBI headquarters in Delhi on his arrival from Mumbai.

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Wednesday allowed the
plea by family members of Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Usman
Balwa, arrested in connection with the 2G scam case, to meet
him at the CBI headquarters in Delhi on his arrival from Mumbai.

"The family members of the accused are allowed meet him",
Special CBI Judge O P Saini said.

The family members of the industrialist, who was arrested
in Mumbai on Wednesday, said they be allowed to meet on his
arrival here.

Earlier, during the day, a Mumbai court had granted two
days transit remand to CBI for producing him before the court
of a special judge here.

Balwa is the fourth accused who has been arrested after
former Telecom Minister A Raja, Siddharth Behura and R K
Chandolia in the case.

Except Raja, who is still being quizzed by CBI, other two
top officials have been remanded to judicial custody on the
conclusion of the five-day interrogation.
