New Delhi: A fast-track court here on Tuesday convicted four men for their involvement in the infamous Delhi gang-rape of December 16, 2012.
While pronouncing the judgement, the judge said the accused had murdered a "helpless victim".
"I convict all of the accused. They have been found guilty of gang rape, unnatural offences, destruction of evidence ... and for committing the murder of the helpless victim," Judge Yogesh Khanna said.
The verdict was read out in a packed courtroom, while a bigger crowd of national and international media waited outside the court in Saket.
The judge, on his part, also lauded the Delhi Police for the scientific manner in which they carried out the probe.
"The police should do similar work in other cases as well," he said.
The court will hear arguments on sentencing from 11 am tomorrow and the four adult accused are likely to be handed quantum of punishments tomorrow itself.
