Delhi honour killing: Accused in police custody

New Delhi: A Delhi court Tuesday remanded the father of a girl and her uncle, accused of torturing and electrocuting her and her boyfriend in a case of honour killing, to two days’ police custody.

Suresh Kumar Saini and Om Prakash, father and uncle respectively of the victim Asha Saini, were arrested for allegedly committing the twin murder.

The accused were produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Shalini Gupta who sent them to custodial interrogation till June 17.

Asha, 19, and her boyfriend Yogesh Kumar, 21, were found murdered at her uncle's residence on street number 3 of Swaroop Nagar area yesterday morning in an apparent case of honour killing.

Delhi police sought remand of the two accused on the ground that they need to be interrogated to find out the real motive of the offence.

Besides, the investigators contended that the duo were to be quizzed for ascertain the involvement of others, if any, in the crime.

According to police, Asha wanted to marry him but her family was vehemently against the match as the boy belonged to a different caste.

Her family members had even fixed her marriage with somebody else, they said.

time is changing very fast system is not we need to put some efforts in education system where they teach family value life value and also need to know what is real love,these tragedies are really sad destroying very innocents life lack knowledge of real life. love don`t kill or be killed like this, if that is love only.
