New Delhi: The war of words between Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh reached a new level on Monday, with the latter calling the former a “fake desi Obama”.

“Now we have a FAKE DESI OBAMA too. FEKU at his best !(sic),” Digvijay Singh tweeted this morning.

His tweet was in response to Modi’s "Yes, we can!" war cry used to launch the BJP’s election campaign in Hyderabad yesterday.

It may be noted "Yes, we can!" is originally the war cry of US President Barack Obama.

"Yes we can!" Modi had chanted while winding up his address at a massive public meeting at the L B Stadium yesterday. He asked the people to echo him: "Yes, we can! Yes, we will do!"

Modi was referring to the dream of building a "Congress-free India". He also raised the slogans of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram".
