New Delhi: In an apparent dig at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Monday said BJP won in Rajasthan, MP and Chhattisgarh because of Vasundhra Raje, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Raman Singh and cautioned the rival party that it should not allow someone else to take the credit of their poll victories.
Expressing his comments on his twitter account Dijvijay said: “Congratulations to Dr Raman Singh Shivraj Chauhan and Vasundhra Scindhia. It is their victory. Don`t allow someone else to take the credit.”
The Congress leader’s statement is surely an attack on BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who is being credited for the superb performance of the party in the recently held Assembly elections in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
The BJP registered a sweeping victory in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and retained Chhattisgarh. It emerged as the single largest party in Delhi.
Crediting the emergence of Modi, for the party`s 4-0 lead in Assembly elections, BJP president Rajnath Singh congratulated party workers and senior leaders on Sunday.
“There has been Modi`s effect even in the Assembly elections,” said Singh.
Few days ago, in unexpected comments, Digvijay, a known Modi baiter, said the Gujarat CM was moving away from his "fanatic" ideology and that "even a chaiwallah can become the Prime Minister", which were promptly welcomed by BJP as praise for its PM candidate.
