Bhubaneswar: Adding thrill to the ongoing
National Youth Festival (NYF), Surya Kiran, the elite
aerobatic unit of the Indian Air Force, would be seen in
action over the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

The awe-inspiring manoeuvres and formations of Surya
Kiran, acknowledged among the top nine aircraft formation
aerobatics teams in the world, could be viewed on the skyline
above the Kathajori river in Cuttack tomorrow as part of the
five-day extravaganza.

They would repeat their spellbinding feat during the
valedictory function of the NYF on Tuesday at the Kalinga
Stadium here.

Led by Wing Commander Joy Thomas Khrien, six aircraft
in red and white would take part in the show with the rest
three on standby on the ground.

While the first half of the show would include turns,
wingovers, loops and barrel rolls, the second half would have
two groups to carry out a variety of manoeuvres of splits,
level and rolling crosses, inverted runs and heart loop.

During the show, the aircraft would operate between a
speed ranging between 200 and 600 kmph and fly at heights
from as low as 30 metres to one kilometre.
