New Delhi: With a fresh debate having erupted on whether Anna Hazare is correct in launching an agitation even as the Parliament debates the Lokpal Bill, one of the most vocal voices in the Left, D Raja, has come out in support of Anna’s right to protest.
Speaking to a news channel on Tuesday, Raja, who is the national secretary of the CPI, said, “Outside (Parliament) any organisation can go on any campaign, after all we are a democracy the people have the right to register their dissent on any legislation.”
“As far as my understanding, the government stands committed for a strong and effective Lokpal. The purpose (behind the debate) is to strengthen the bill so that the country gets a strong bill,” he added.
