New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Balbir Punj on Tuesday said Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari suffers from a fascist mindset like rest of the Congressmen, because for them, everything in this country belongs only to the `nakli` Gandhi family.
"Like rest of the Congressmen, Manish Tewari also suffers from a fascist mindset, if you are not with me, you are against me. And people like Sardar Patel, Mahatma Gandhi; they are not the monopoly of the Congress. And, you don`t have to agree with them on everything they said, or did," said Punj.
They were the great sons of India and Bharatiya Janata Party has the highest respect for them. And particularly, Sardar Patel, because if it was left to Nehru the country would have disintegrated even before it was born," he added.
Punj said every Indian is indebted to Sardar Patel, including BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and people like me.
"So, we want to show our gratitude to these forgotten sons of India because for Mr. Manish Tewari and his party everything in this country belongs to only `nakli` Gandhi family. They don`t even remember the real Gandhi," said Punj.
"And what Mr. Manish Tewari has to say about Mahatma Gandhi`s suggestion that the Congress had done its role and now in free India the Congress must disintegrate. What he has got to say? Does he subscribe to Gandhiji`s theory and will he motivate his leadership consisting of `nakli` Gandhis to implement Gandhiji`s desire," he added.
Carrying forward the fight over Sardar Patel`s legacy, Tewari earlier in the day accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) of appropriating the legacy of India`s first Home Minister.
